white, blue and yellow summer country wedding flowers

February 1, 2013

On a warm summer’s night we loaded up the cars with flowers and supplies and headed to Sauble Beach, Ontario to create the flowers for a wedding on August 25, 2012.

In the middle of a summer heat wave, Rob and Kristine said ‘I Do’ at the Bride’s family farm just outside of Chesley, Ontario. The couple were engaged in Italy and wanted a country wedding with a touch of Italy; the family farm created a charming backdrop for their beautiful day, while the bouquets and bit of decor offered reminders of their engagement trip to Italy.

The colour scheme for the big day was blue, white and yellow. The bridesmaids wore sapphire dresses with the bride looking stunning in ivory.

Kristine and her sisters gathered an amazing collection of milk glass containers and vases, which were filled with flowers for the table centrepieces. We are still in awe of the milk glass collection!

For the bouquets we created heavily textured European hand-tied arrangements of white flowers with touches of blue and yellow. The boutonnieres were simple, white spray roses and delphinium florets.

The Flowers

  • Yellow Dahlias
  • ‘Fragrant Snow’ Garden Roses
