Summer is slowly fading and fall is beginning to show its face around here. I’m slowly getting more excited for the season to change. I’m looking forward to the amazing colours, the crunch of leaves under foot, the crisp cool air and a layered wardrobe. But I’m not ready for the shortened days and the reminder that winter is just around the corner. So, I’m holding onto the sunshine and warm days for just a bit longer before it is gone until next year.
This week’s flowers reflect that feeling, sharing a little bit of both seasons before summer is gone and fall moves in. Bright cheery sunflowers mixed with hot reds for summer and dried wheat stalks for fall, the perfect pairing for this time of transition.
