Wednesday’s Flowers – Flowery Bits and Pieces

June 22, 2011

Hello summer!  So glad you are finally here, not that I had or will have the time to enjoy you.  Life right now is crazy busy, so this Wednesday’s Flowers is going to be short and sweet but filled with bits and pieces of flowery goodness.

If you missed out on the latest news I shared two weeks ago I will quickly bring you up to speed now.  I resigned from my full time job at Schreiter’s so I can focus on Living Fresh full time and my last day is this Friday; which is the reason for all the busyness.  We also get possession of our new home on July 4th, so we are currently planning and organizing the move.  I wanted to keep this short so let’s get back to Wednesday’s Flowers.

This week I continued to snip bits and pieces from the garden, I really want to enjoy it as much as possible before we move, which just happens to be the July 16th!

Here is what I used to create this week’s flower arrangement in my favourite little turquoise pitcher:

  • Clematis ‘Ville de Lyon
  • Hosta foliage – ‘Hosta’
  • Lady’s Mantel  Alchemilla mollis
  • Masterwort Astrantia maxima
  • Dead Nettle – Lamium maculatum ‘Red Nancy’
  • Sedum ‘Purple Emperor’
  • Variegated Reed Grass – Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Overdam’

Hopefully next week will be less crazy and we will be prepared to share more exciting news with you!  Fingers crossed!

In the meantime, tell me about your summer plans?  Planning a fun vacation?  Dreaming up outdoor dinner parties?  Heading off on a road trip to somewhere new?  Planting a garden?  Moving?  Please do share!
