Sunday’s Terrarium Workshop

April 30, 2013

In biology class we learned the importance of a sustainable environment – a system that remains productive over a long period of time.  Well, this past Sunday, April 28th, the students of the Living Fresh Flower Studio and School got the chance to make their very own biology in a jar!  Our eager class learned how to create a mini ecosystem under glass, combining an assortment of air plants, tropical foliage, and unique botanical elements.  With three different styles of apothecary jars to choose from, each student had the opportunity to customize their terrarium to fit their décor at home.

In the end, no two terrariums were alike.  Each piece featured a design as unique as the student who made it – everyone did a terrific job!

Please enjoy a glimpse at some images that were taken during our class by the very talented Toronto based wedding photographer, Lyn Ismael.  We were honoured to have been chosen by Lyn as her subjects.  You can enjoy more of Lyn’s work at her website. Thank you Lyn!
