The inspiration for this workshop stems from the still life floral paintings by the famous Dutch Master’s of the 17th century; Rachel Ruysch, Willem van Aelst, Maria van Oosterwijck, Jan Frans van Dael, Jan Davidsz de Heem, to name a few.
The florals from this time period were an opulent mix of the seasons — majestic fritillaria and delicate spring blossoms were blended amongst summer blooming irises, garden roses and lilies.
In this workshop students will select from a wide array of blooms to create their personalized Dutch Master inspired composition in a gorgeous vessel. Students will have their masterpieces styled and then photographed as a still life.
Jessica Imrie Photography will capture student’s creations and provide 3 images for their portfolio use following the workshop.
