As you all know I adore arranging flowers. Well did you know that whenever I can I love to design flowers in everyday containers, especially food and drink vessels?
Well, to challenge my creativity I have been plotting a new blog column, something that would inspire readers as well as be kind to the earth; the catalyst came from an almost empty jar of Bonne Maman Blueberry jam.
While I was spreading some of their delicious jam on my waffle one morning, I was admiring the lovely typeface on the label, the shape of the glass, and the cute gingham lid. And I thought what a shame it would be to just throw the jar out when it was empty so I decided to fill it with flowers instead. Inspiring the beginning of this new column, ‘Fresh and Renewed’.
The Vase – Bonne Maman Jam Jar
Pink Ranunculus, Fuchsia Freesia, Pink, White and Red Tulips, White Waxflower, Bupleurum, Pink Rice Flower, Parvifolia Eucalyptus and Birch Twigs.
The Design Process
Have you tried Bonne Maman’s preserves? They are my go to jam; I will make a special trip to the local shop in town that carries them just to stock up. I’m currently enjoying the jar of raspberry jam pictured above. Please do note that they use all natural ingredients with no artificial colorings, no additives or preservatives. So good!
So, this new weekly column is dedicated to flower arranging and find more ways to reduce, reuse and recycle everyday objects in my life.
