Little Antique Wooden Box

I know the flowers are the focal point to the photo above but the little antique wooden box is the reason for this post. I purchased the wooden box back in the fall of 2011 for an upcoming bridal show for Living Fresh. I found the box while antique shopping in the St. Jacob’s area, a favourite area for me to hunt for good old finds. St. Jacob’s is a small community just north of Kitchener-Waterloo.

The little box is handmade and from the look of it, it has served someone very well. It is rough and worn, with stains and chips but I love it just so.

Many of the treasures used for bridal shows and such are in storage but I adore this old find so much that when the box is not being used for shows it sits on our dining room table. Sometimes it shares the table with pretty flowers as shown above but normally it houses a vase or two of fresh flowers. Occasionally it stands alone in all its glory.
