52 objects in the studio – flower cooler

March 26, 2014

Our flower studio is bursting at the seams.  We utilize every square inch of our space – and love every bit of  it! We are surrounded by the vintage, the reconditioned, the antique, and the new.  Everything that we have in the shop has a purpose, a story, and is loved – so let us tell you about it! Follow the Living Fresh Blog every Wednesday and let us introduce you to an object in the studio that we simply cannot get by without.

Efficient, she aint.  Reliable, usually.  But we have a soft spot in our hearts for our flower cooler.  Although she is older than us (well maybe not older than Deb, but most certainly older than Tina), this 72 cubic foot refrigerator has been there for us through all the busy holidays, flower classes, weddings and events since we first opened our studio doors in 2012.

We have most certainly have gotten our money’s worth out of this $100 hand-me-down.  Like any appliance, there was a “getting to know you” period.  We have since discovered that during the winter she runs most effectively when slightly ajar.  If the door comes off the track, you simply pull it towards you to realign. And, if you climb inside to give her a real scrub down,  don’t do it on a day you are working alone because it is very difficult to open from the inside!!

To our cooler we offer her the Polish toast of longevity, good health, and 100 years –  Sto lat!
