White, Cobalt Blue and Espresso

August 24, 2010

I had the pleasure of creating the wedding flowers for a lovely couple for their big day on Saturday, August 21st.  The couple was after a unique, contemporary assortment of flowers, in white, cobalt blue and espresso brown.

Cobalt seems to be a very popular colour for weddings this year; this is one of the two weddings I have booked that have this pretty shade of blue in the colour scheme.  In order to keep with the theme, I suggested white dahlias, white mini callas, blue sea holly and poppy seed pods sprayed espresso brown.  The bride loves Gerbera daisies, so those were a must, I suggested white Gerberas with brown centres.

The groom was after a masculine boutonnière, no pretty flowers, so I used blue sea holly and espresso poppy pods to create the “flowers” for the guys.  I then finished them off with espresso brown ribbon and a white pin.

So, I think big congratulations to Leta and Nick are in order!  I hope you had an absolutely wonderful day and may your marriage be full of love!!  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your very special day, it was truly an honour!
