I was so happy to find fresh cut tulips for today’s flower post! I love fresh cut tulips and how they instantaneously cheer up a room! I must say that I am quite sad when tulip season ends in the floral world, but when it is back! Oh happy days!
I picked up a 10 stem bunch of yellow tulips at Sobeys for $7.99.
Once home with the tulips I gave the stems a fresh cut and places them in a large milk glass vase filled with water.
Although they looked pretty as they were I decided to dress up the simple arrangement just a bit by adding short cut pieces of natural and green ting ting to the vase.
The ting ting added a cheery, playful feel to the arrangement.
Here are the yellow tulips in our dining room/floral studio!
Do keep in mind when buying flowers at this time of the year, especially in Canada, to have your flowers wrapped in paper before taking outdoors. The extreme cold we are currently experiencing will damage the blooms. It is also a good idea to have the vehicle heated before transporting flowers, fresh cut and potted.
Have you had the chance kick off the New Year with fresh flowers in your home? Well it is not too late to start 2012 with a few fresh blooms around, you will be glad you did!
