Wednesday’s Flowers – Tulips & Roses

January 5, 2011

A mass bouquet of a single type of flower always attracts my attention.  It makes such an impressive presentation, yet simple.  All blooms and no greenery is a perfect way to add a huge punch of colour or to add some drama in a very easy way.  Simple and gorgeous.

For this Wednesday’s flowers I used Creme de la Creme roses in a large bouquet paired up with two smaller bouquets of fiery orange, parrot tulips.  The tulips were purchased from the local grocery store for $7.99 for a bunch of 10 stems, the roses where a gift from a dear friend.

With the start of a new year, I wanted the presentation of the three bouquets to be classic with a bit of drama, which told me I had to incorporate black into the project.  I arranged the roses in a black, flared, glass vase.  The tulips were placed in mini vases with a damask pattern.

I think this is a perfect pairing to start the new year!

Happy 2011 to you all!  Wishing you a year full of joy, happiness and success and may there be new adventures around every turn and smiles to last a lifetime.

Enjoy!
