Wednesday’s Flowers – Summer Days

July 28, 2010

We are right in the middle of the lazy, hazy days of summer and I could not be happier.  We are getting a wonderful mix of hot, sunny days and rain.  We need the rain.  The flowers need the rain, today just happened to be a rain day, thunder storms and all.

So for today’s flowers I had to run around my garden collecting flowers in that rain, but I did not mind one bit!  I did however mind the lack of light to take photographs of the arrangement, but that is another story.

The following flowers were used to create the arrangement:

Echinacea purpurea – Purple Coneflower

Heuchera micrantha ‘Palace Purple Coral Bells

Cimicifuga simplex ‘Brunette’ – Bugbane

Lunaria annua – Silver Dollars or Money Plant

Aegopodium podagraria – Goutweed

Regardless of the weather I do hope you are having a great summer and taking in everything it has to offer!

Enjoy!
