Wednesday’s Flowers – Purple Leftovers

September 21, 2011

Yup leftovers, leftovers just like dinner but with purple flowers.  Florists always have leftovers and we hate to waste them, so I used all the leftover flowers and foliage from the Living Fresh Flower School’s Colour Theory – Purple class for today’s Wednesday’s flowers post.

Here are the purple flowers and the foliage I used to create the floral art:

  • Purple Stock
  • Deep Purple Carnations
  • Mauve Rose – Coolwater
  • Purple Freesia
  • Dark Purple Hanna Aster
  • Purple Celosia
  • Seeded Eucalyptus
  • Salal – Gaultheria
  • Lily Grass
  • Dusty Miller
  • Kale Leaves
  • Hosta Leaves

Oasis was used to create this arrangement and the container was a clear, crystal pedestal dish from the dining room sideboard.

Even though some of these flowers are almost past their prime, mixed together they turned into a fabulous arrangement that will look great on our dining room table for a few days.

No point in wasting, use what you have, right!

Enjoy!
