fresh and renewed – vintage keiller milk glass jars

June 18, 2013

This week’s Fresh and Renewed vintage James Keiller and Son marmalade jars are coming to you all they way from Dundee, Scotland. Keiller’s marmalade was first produced in Scotland in 1797 and by the late 19th century their preserves were shipped all over the world. They are believed to be the world’s first commercial marmalade manufacturer.

The jars are a cream milk glass with screw on lids and I purchased them at the Aberfoyle Antique Market a couple of Sunday’s ago while scouring the booths for vintage and antique items for the flower studio. Being a collector of milk glass I had to add these vessels to my collection, plus they are perfect for arranging flower in!
