fresh and renewed – vintage brass and glass hexagon boxes

June 11, 2013

I love it when clients bring in interesting containers for us to repurpose into vases and terrariums. Our friends across the street at Strange Utopia popped in the other day with two vintage brass and glass hexagon trinket boxes hoping we could transform them into mini terrariums for them to display in their shop.

The moment I saw the trinket boxes I wished they were mine; little empty boxes fill of possibilities! But I was excited to create little mini terrariums for a friend. So I began plotting what plants would fit in them best. After some consideration, I decided the smaller one would house a tiny moss fern and the larger piece would be a perfect home for air plants.

Want to make your own terrarium? We will be hosting a terrarium workshop in the fall in which you can bring in your own container to work with. Time to start hunting for the perfect piece for this upcoming class!
