52 objects in the studio – sap buckets

April 2, 2014

Our flower studio is bursting at the seams.  We utilize every square inch of our space – and love every bit of  it! We are surrounded by the vintage, the reconditioned, the antique, and the new.  Everything that we have in the shop has a purpose, a story, and is loved – so let us tell you about it! Follow the Living Fresh Blog every Wednesday and let us introduce you to an object in the studio that we simply cannot get by without.

Here in Kitchener, we are surrounded by maple sugar bushes.  The Mennonite farms have helped put our region on the map.  March through May the sugar bushes are busy with production and tourists alike.  It shouldn’t surprise you that we have accumulated a sweet little collection of antique sap buckets here in the studio.  Technology has changed over the years rendering the metal sap buckets obsolete, so if you keep your eyes open at antique markets you may find some of your very own.  The buckets that we have are used to display flowers and other flower shop things.  Unfortunately, some of our buckets are no longer water tight,  but we love them just the same! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.
